Recently I have heard a lot of lyrics which I have to really listen to, to be able to take note of what they say. However, some lyric translations I have seen have left me confused. Not by the lyrics but what the people 'transcribing' actually thought the lyrics were.
Drake's verse in 'I'm On One' is epic. We all Know. Ruhhh. Go to 1.07. as you can quite clearly hear, our Aubrey says "sick of all these liars and these fucking allegations" not as on a youtube lyric video "sick of all these lions and these fucking alligators". Seriously do we think, Drake has a serious issue about Lions and Alligators?!? maybe. However, it just doesnt fit in with the track does it?!?
Ratatatatatat. P Money. Grimey Originator. Dub-Step Lyricist. We all know, this ones a banger, release your anger..... 'Slang Like This' produced by TrueTiger. "All the suit wearing guys in cities can't stand us". Now, P is very clear when delivering lyrics. Go on youtube check. So how did someone hear "All the SOUP wearing guys in cities can't stand us". Seriously. How do you come to this conclusion? How on earth do you wear soup?
Finally, They call him ESS KAY EEE PEEE TEE AYYY. Skepta. The King Of Grime. He did a Grime Tune with Diddy. However, the song in question is 'Frisco'. The line at 33 seconds says 'When your looking at Skepta, you're looking at Canary wharfe and the Gherkin'. Quite clearly saying he represents London. Not, 'When your looking at Skepta you're looking at a canary a wolf and a gherkin'. Imagine if that is what you saw.....
Anyway if your transcribing lyrics, do it properly, please. People write lyrics, to make sense. Not a random culmination of words that fit the beat. thanks. peace.
